Bedazzled

We really don’t spend as much time anywhere else in our entire house as we do in our bedrooms. We dream there, read there, do other unmentionable things there (wink, wink), so it really should be the number one space we think of when decorating. Because a beautiful bedroom can only lead to beautiful things...

Bed Behavior

I had the craziest dream last night! My cat was the Queen of France, and I had to fashion together the most luxurious jeweled collar to impress her; if I failed, she'd be off with my head! The only thing I can reason is that she must have been hogging my pillow space while I slumbered, and that was my mind's way of reminding me that this kitty rules the roost. Anyway, that got me thinking about lovely beds and bedrooms, hence the boudoir decorating tips. (Funny how the mind works, right?)

Last Chance Fur It

I don't know about all of you, but one of my favorite things to do on chilly nights during the fall and winter is to snuggle up into my faux fur blanket with a cup of tea or hot chocolate and a good book. But the best part of that combo is most definitely the warm, soft and cozy feel of the fur against my skin. However, since it tends to start looking a little silly to display something so wintry once April rolls around, I do my best to partake in plenty of wrapped-up snuggle sessions throughout late February and early March, just to get my fury fill before it has to head back into the closet. But sshh, don't tell: I sometimes whip it out in July, blast my air conditioner and pretend it's winter. It's always a good way to chill down and pretend I'm somewhere fabulous like the Alps!

Mirror, Mirror

Ever since I was a little girl, I've been fascinated with mirrors (and no, not just because I like to look at myself!). I think maybe it's because I was so infatuated with the childhood book, Through the Looking Glass, a story that made mirrors seem like such magical things. And if you think about it, they really are! They instantly make any space look twice its size, not to mention (with the right piece) add so much glamor to a room. I've been waiting for the day when I find the perfect mirrored bedside tables to flank my headboard (maybe like the dresser above), so if you happen to see any, please let me know in the comment section! xoxo

New Again

Every time we get around to our annual spring cleaning — complete with moving each and every piece of furniture to make sure the floor, walls and practically everything in between is spic and span — we start lusting for new pieces to brighten everything up. We know we’re not alone, which is why we couldn’t resist sharing this easy, affordable makeover that could bring a little spring back into your bedroom’s step.

All it took for this room to be transformed was replacing the outdated bedside tables with antiqued versions from Pottery Barn, hanging some romantic curtains, and brightening the room with a few fresh flowers and some Ikea table lamps! It’s simple yet dramatic, and the small changes packed a triumphant punch!
