Femme Fashionista

When I was young, my mother used to drive one very important thing into my head: “Always dress to impress!” At the time, the only thing the saying impressed upon me was the feeling of rebellion, and I did my best to make wardrobe choices that pushed the boundaries of what she’d allow me to get away with. These days, I take her advice much more to heart, and I even take the time to dress up and look impeccable for simple errands like running to the grocery store. It really does make a difference in how people treat you. Try it!

Oh So Pretty

I feel like a lucky girl: Headed out for date night tonight, and I'm marveling at all of the fun treasures I've picked up over the years for my closet. Vintage bags, family heirloom jewelry, lacy blouses and skirts (not to mention the pretty underthings in my chest of drawers!). Isn't it fun being a woman?

Colonel Mustard

I've always fancied myself more of a Miss Scarlett when playing the game of CLUE — that is, until the issue of wardrobe comes up. True, the red-swathed beauty is quite stylish. But I'm much more inspired by the Colonel's name, having loved mustard yellow since before the hot dog even knew what mustard was. It's just an unexpected and warm color that instantly adds wow to any ensemble.

Seeing Red

There's no color sexier than red. It's the hue that invokes passion, lust and love. And it's even been said that the shade can not only inspire action in yourself and others when its worn, but wearing it also increases your chances of being noticed and hired during job interviews! Yes, it's one tough-as-nails color, but that doesn't stop us from messing around with it!

Under My Umbrella...

It's February, so it's supposed to still be snowy. Or at least icy! But nope, I just keep getting rain, rain and more rain. Which is fine by me, because I assume that will lead to early spring flowers! Fingers crossed anyway, as my table is screaming for a lovely fresh arrangement. I actually don't have a working umbrella, because I don't usually have need for one. But I have always wanted a beautiful, ruffly keeper from the storm. Do you guys usually carry umbrellas? Or do you prefer to let the rain wash away your cares?

Club Love

Club Monaco recently released some sneak peek press preview photos of their spring collection, and I have to say I'm drooling. Looks like the color palette is soft and feminine, and that goes for the materials used, as well. I can't wait to wrap myself up in the splendor!

Statement rings have become front and center in the fashion world, and while we've found our share of big, beautiful bands, these fun pieces from Old Gold Boutique definitely take the cake. We are going gaga over the unique finger charms, to the point where our credit cards are kind of crying from the over-use! Whoopsie... but worth it!
