Bonjour lovely French Charmed followers! We have missed you so much, and we apologize for the short hiatus. We had decided that maybe our efforts were better geared toward some of our other social media sites (our Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter pages), but then we realized that nothing really beats blogging -- and none of our readers beat you, our blog readers! We’d like to thank the many of you that had the patience to stick around and wait for more. And, as promised, this is the first of many, many more posts to come! :)

This is our first blog of 2013, so it makes sense to tell you about our first new line in 2013: Our French Farmhouse Premiere Fabric Home Décor! We have tablecloths, table runners, pillows and chair slips all featuring a beautiful French motif of roosters, fruit, red stripes  and flowers. Beautiful on their own, but they’d really shine in farmhouse dining areas such as these!

No Ifs, Ands or Pots About It

We get asked a lot here at French Charmed about easy ways to transform your ordinary American kitchen into an extraordinary culinary space fit for French kings and queens. We’ve given a lot of decorating advice over the years, but one simple trick that we always swear by no matter what (because it works, time and time again!) is proudly displaying a collection of copper pots. It instantly gives any kitchen an old world charm and touch of European romance. And since it works whether the pots belong to a matching set or not, we suggest scouring flea markets and second stores as an inexpensive way to start amassing your collection. In no time at all, you’ll have an elegant French kitchen in the pan!

Thanksgiving Tablescapes

Thanksgiving may not be a French holiday (in fact, it’s the furthest thing from being a European celebration at all!), but that doesn't mean you can’t add a French flair to the traditional American festivities. One way to do this would be to serve foods that hail from the country, but if your family is a stickler for the annual usuals  another way to embrace your love of Europe’s sexiest little county is to just simply decorate your table with France in mind! Whether you use feathers, vintage photos and frames, Fleur-de-Lis adorned pieces, pears or even burlap napkins, your table is sure to be a stunning success.

All Booked

They say never to judge a book by its cover. But when it comes to judging a bookcase, that rule need not apply. It’s all about how it looks, and as any savvy decorator will tell you, adding bookshelf accessories is the final touch that makes a room stand out or just stand empty. A few neat ideas to spice up your own bookshelves would be to spray paint a bunch of inexpensive flea market trinkets one color and sprinkle them about, add flower vases, use pieces of wood or other natural items you’ve found on vacation, or display beautiful bath gel bottles. The list goes on and on. You just have to be creative!

Busy Bees

Boy have we been busy here at French Charmed! You lovelies bought us out of so much of our product in such a hurry, that we’re behind on placing the plethora of new items we have onto the boutique website! But worry not: My daughter will be here this week to help me get things in order. I couldn’t be more ecstatic! And I’m very delighted to share the fabulous new product we have coming in the next couple of weeks. It’s all going to be spectacular! Speaking of busy bees, I just wanted to remind you all of the beautiful French bee glassware and pitcher we have in our French Farmhouse section (all of which would look spectacular on the table setting above). The unique collection was splendid for summer, but I get the feeling the glasses would work wonders for those steamy, homemade sea-salted caramel hot chocolates we’ll all be making for fall and winter, too!

All Bottled Up

I recently dropped by an interesting blog called Savvy Southern Style Reviews, and I fell in love with these bottles featured on a recent post. Aren't they just fabulous?! Makes me want to rush out to a flea market and find something similar for my own space. Just gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!

Bedazzled

We really don’t spend as much time anywhere else in our entire house as we do in our bedrooms. We dream there, read there, do other unmentionable things there (wink, wink), so it really should be the number one space we think of when decorating. Because a beautiful bedroom can only lead to beautiful things...
