Bed Behavior

I had the craziest dream last night! My cat was the Queen of France, and I had to fashion together the most luxurious jeweled collar to impress her; if I failed, she'd be off with my head! The only thing I can reason is that she must have been hogging my pillow space while I slumbered, and that was my mind's way of reminding me that this kitty rules the roost. Anyway, that got me thinking about lovely beds and bedrooms, hence the boudoir decorating tips. (Funny how the mind works, right?)

Oh So Pretty

I feel like a lucky girl: Headed out for date night tonight, and I'm marveling at all of the fun treasures I've picked up over the years for my closet. Vintage bags, family heirloom jewelry, lacy blouses and skirts (not to mention the pretty underthings in my chest of drawers!). Isn't it fun being a woman?

Remote Romance

I'm all for chic Parisian apartments and the like, but I do live in a very remote area and enjoy the quiet of the country, meaning I have a heart on for farmland, too. In fact, it's always been a dream of mine to own a romantic farmhouse somewhere in the far away fields of France. For now, I'll settle on fun farmhouse decor. Here are a few looks that have brought me inspiration, as well as some accessories — this charming horse, and these cute pigs — that you can add to your home to help get a similar look!

La Potee Le Fun

I was so happy to see the first few days of the month turn out to be sunny and bright, that I wholly expected to skip June Gloom altogether this year! Unfortunately, the clouds have come out to play. But I'm not letting it take my smile away! Instead, I think I'll make my own version of this delicious French Farmhouse soup and imagine sipping it inside of a quaint cottage next to a roaring fireplace. Aaahhhh... Much better!

Totally Toilette

It might be the smallest room in your house, but a uniquely decorated bathroom can pack quite a decorative punch! Here are a few of our favorites. Which one do you gravitate toward the most?

Tea Party

Is it wrong that, whenever current political debates enter the conversation, my mind wanders this way at the mention of "tea party"? Don't get me wrong: I'm very interested in politics. But after years and years of associating the term with scrumptious delights and yummy tisanes, it's tough to get the fancy wonderland out of my head! I'm trying my best, but I think I'll have another tea party this afternoon — complete with these cute tea towels — just for the heck of it! Cheers!

Pizza With Pizazz

As women on the go, I'm sure you can all agree that if there's not shopping or writing or organizing or cleaning to do, there's a party to attend, company to entertain or friends to visit. It can be a whirlwind just to get through the day, and any tips on how to make things even a tiny bit easier are very much appreciated. Which is why I've decided to share one of my absolute favorite until-now-top-secret recipes: Peach Pesto Pizza. It's extremely simple and quick to whip together, makes a unique statement and is the perfect spring and summer party pleaser! Trust me when I say it could not be any easier. You just cook pre-packaged pizza dough in the oven according to the package directions (just to crisp it up a bit), spread a jar of your favorite pesto over the top, then sprinkle it with slices of ripe tomatoes and peaches, as well as fresh basil leaves and salt and pepper to your liking. Voila! Instant classic. And if you have extra time and feel so inclined, you can make the exact same recipe with homemade pizza dough and homemade pesto, which really makes it feel special!

Here's a shopping list, just to make life even that more simple. Enjoy!

1 pre-packaged pizza dough round
1 jar of pesto
2 tomatoes
2 peaches
fresh basil leaves
salt and pepper to taste

Tiny Dancer

Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of being a prima ballerina. I took the classes, wore the tutus, learned the routines and shined in the spotlight doing assemblés across the stage. Much to my little girl wide-eyed horror, I saw one of the teenaged dancer's raw and mangled toes, and from that moment on, I swore off dancing forever! I still do dream of being Coppelia's Swanhilda, pirouetting into Franz' strong arms. But alas, the fabulous image will have to stay tucked into the private corners of my own mind. Sigh.

Gem Of A Bottle

Having a cocktail cart is classy. Having a cocktail cart with geode topped bottles? Très chic times 10! And Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere came up with a fabulous idea: Use craft glue to attach geodes bought from a craft store to inexpensive bottle stoppers. Voila: budget friendly glam look!
