Prance On

Spring is slowly turning into summer, but it’s not quite time to pull out the sandals. Instead, it’s the perfect time to box up the winter boots and start donning (what else, really?) ballet flats! They feel comfy and these studded flats would look sophisticated with just about anything. And we don’t know about you, but they also remind of us of frolicking down Paris streets in the search of stylin’ boutiques and flea markets. Just take bonadrag.com’s advice and watch out for puddles!

Spring Awakening

I woke up this morning to the sound of tiny raindrops pelting the panes of my bedroom window, and for one quick, groggy moment, I could have sworn I was in 1700s Paris, rising for the morning to study my music and literature. But that definitely could have been because I was dreaming about reading plays in my garden. Maybe the two are linked, maybe not. But in any case, here are some gorgeous photos from This Is Glamorous that bring to life exactly what was going on in my mind while sleeping ...

Starlight Bungalow

You can always find beautiful things when antique shopping, but it’s rare to find a store with gorgeous displays worth remembering. That isn’t the case at Hunt & Gather Antiques in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The store is chalk full of creative product positioning, like this hauntingly beautiful cream room that evokes angelic peace and serenity. We can’t help but just want to curl up on the settee and just look in awe at all the lovely wonders. And of course, buy everything to recreate the look at home! Happy Gathering ~ Chelle

Completely Booked

Nothing compares to getting lost within the pages of a good book... except maybe displaying your favorites for all the world to see, which then gives you the perfect excuse to relive the tales when conversations come up about your chosen decorative pieces. We’ve found crates and crates of affordable vintage books, and trust us when we tell you that if organized and highlighted properly, they can transform any room into a wondrous cavern of stories and tales, both literally (because they are actual stories and tales) and figuratively, as they will create a multitude of curious conversations when people visit your home. Happy reading! ~ Chelle

Extempore Elegance

What was supposed to be a simple bank run today quickly turned into a sunny afternoon of frolicking through the organic supermarket, bundling up sprouts of fresh produce and bottles of bubbly water. My mind was supposed to be on finances (boring!), but seeing the sun shine on the bright ads in the supermarket window inspired me to throw an impromptu dinner soiree. I hit a slight snag when, in my excitement about sipping rosé and dipping crudité on my patio, I completely forgot to make it to the bank! Guess there’s always tomorrow... that is, if I don’t see any ice cream trucks on the way!

Take Me Away

As hard as it is to admit, we don’t actually have the luxury of being able to throw a few toiletries in a bag and jet off to Paris on a moment’s notice. But sometimes, we pretend we do (and even have some “ooh la la” negligees at the ready, just in case the dream comes true!). However, peeking in on French boutique hotels has become a favorite pastime, and if given the chance to run off to the city of love, the hôtel des Académies would be a place we’d love to spend our evenings. Located in Paris’s latin quarter, where artists such as Hemingway and Beauvoir were regulars, the hotel breathes art, history and romance.

With rooms like this, it’s almost as if you have your own Paris apartment. And can’t you just see yourself getting lost in a sea of fascinating literature on that couch? Or just running around in a frenzy in heels, readying yourself for an evening on the town while Eartha Kitt meows in the background? Sweet Dreaming ~ Chelle
