Oh My Oscar

It's that time of year again when I scramble to get all of the Academy Award nominated movies off my checklist (My Week With Marilyn and Albert Nobbs are the only two I have left, woo hoo!), and hand in hand with that is also the time of year I'm invited to numerous Oscar parties. All movies, all the time — and that goes for the theme of whatever dish or drink I choose to bring along to the party (or parties, if I'm feeling wild) I attend. I recently ate dinner at Rick Bayless' LA restaurant, Red O, and was delighted by the yummy goat cheese cheesecake with caramel corn. I figure movies and popcorn go splendid together, so I'm thinking of playing off that idea, making red velvet cheesecake squares with the popcorn, instead. Red velvet, red carpet... you get where I'm going with this? Anyway, I'm really pulling for Demián Bichir to win Best Actor for his performance in A Better Life, so the Mexican theme is also appropriate. Win, win!

  1. im so waiting for the oscars too!!! i must admit that red carpet is really my interest too haha but i love the movies and i need to catch up with them too!!
