No Ifs, Ands or Pots About It

We get asked a lot here at French Charmed about easy ways to transform your ordinary American kitchen into an extraordinary culinary space fit for French kings and queens. We’ve given a lot of decorating advice over the years, but one simple trick that we always swear by no matter what (because it works, time and time again!) is proudly displaying a collection of copper pots. It instantly gives any kitchen an old world charm and touch of European romance. And since it works whether the pots belong to a matching set or not, we suggest scouring flea markets and second stores as an inexpensive way to start amassing your collection. In no time at all, you’ll have an elegant French kitchen in the pan!

  4. Absolutely love the look of old copper pots and your right, it does add that special "French" touch to any kitchen. That being said however, copper is such a pain to keep looking at its best in an active kitchen that I searched for a better way. I scoured for old copper pots everywhere (with no intention to use them for cooking)and coated then heavily with acrylic. Now they gleam and shine all the time with just a little dusting. However, I did reserve one medium copper bowl to do egg whites in. They almost double in size if beaten in a copper bowl.Love your photos Chelle and enjoy your blog immensely. :)...Char
